Elective Rotations
To Non-McGaw Institution
- All requests must be submitted no less than 120 days prior to the start date of the planned rotation. Please submit to Jadrianna Sobczak.
- Any travel to an external site for greater than 31 days requires approval of the McGaw president.
- Trainees on international elective rotations are required to obtain, at their own expense, an individual GeoBlue supplementary health insurance policy with minimum medical coverage of $1,000,000. McGaw residents and fellows are not eligible to enroll in Northwestern University’s plan which is solely coordinated for students.
- Trainees are responsible for tracking the State Dept. Travel Advisory Levels. Travel to any level 4 site will not be considered. Travel to level 3 sites will reviewed on a case by case basis and are discouraged. Rotation approval may be withdrawn at any time should a site’s advisory level increase at the discretion of McGaw. Trainees should strongly consider travel insurance as McGaw will not be able to reimburse costs should rotation approval be withdrawn.
