Dean's Message
Welcome to the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Located in the vibrant heart of downtown Chicago along the shores of Lake Michigan, we are among the largest graduate medical education institutions in the country. Our consortium of world-class clinical affiliates, together with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, provides advanced healthcare to the communities and patients we serve in a variety of settings.
McGaw’s member institutions and affiliates include top-ranked urban, suburban, specialized and general hospitals such as our U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll-recognized partners Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Given Feinberg’s top rankings for NIH funding and breakthrough discoveries as well as the recent addition of the Louis A. Simpson and Kimberly K. Querrey Biomedical Research Center to our downtown campus, McGaw trainees are participants in our commitment to innovation and scientific inquiry.
It is with pride that McGaw works to provide a culture of safe learning to ensure the education of skilled, compassionate medical professionals dedicated to the highest standards of care. We are privileged to train tomorrow’s healthcare leaders and foster the success of all residents and fellows in their time with McGaw and beyond.
I enthusiastically invite you to learn more about McGaw’s uniquely integrated system and exceptional training programs; each with a focus on trainee support and excellence. We promise extraordinary training experiences in a global city that offers residents and fellows a diversity of patients, training experiences, neighborhoods and cultural activities. We hope you will consider joining McGaw for the next exciting phase of your medical training. Please contact us for more information.
